Student cards and tags, integrated with bus tracking

RFID student identification

RFID technology integrated with GPS bus tracking, so the record covers the student as well as the vehicle.

Hardware

Each student is assigned an RFID card or tag. That card is what links a child to the bus they are travelling on, which is the difference between knowing where a vehicle is and knowing where a student is.

The record the system builds runs student identification, bus identification, boarding, journey, drop-off — capturing the bus boarding record, the student drop-off record, the boarding time, the drop-off time, the bus number and the route information at each step.

That produces RFID-based attendance for the transportation operation and student transportation reports, and gives schools greater visibility of student movement during transportation. RFID requirements are scoped during requirement analysis, since not every institution applies student-level tracking across every route.
