Each bus is fitted with an advanced 4G GPS tracking device. 4G connectivity is what makes the tracking reliable in practice — live vehicle location that updates as the bus moves, rather than a position that arrives late enough to be useless when a parent is standing at a stop.
Position on its own is only part of it. The platform turns the vehicle’s movement into the events a transportation team actually acts on: route monitoring against the assigned route, route deviation alerts when a bus departs from it, geofencing around the school and stops, speed monitoring, and stop and halt monitoring.
Trip history is retained, so a journey can be reviewed after the fact, and distance and trip reports plus automated MIS reports are generated from the same data. The tracking solution is configured according to the school’s fleet size and transportation requirements.
