Igloobuzz integrates RFID technology with GPS bus tracking to provide student-level transportation monitoring. Each student is assigned an RFID card or tag, which links the child to the bus they are travelling on.
The record the system builds follows the journey: student identification, bus identification, boarding, journey, drop-off. Each event carries the boarding or drop-off time, the bus number and the route information, which is what turns a vehicle tracking system into a student safety and attendance system.
That gives schools greater visibility of student movement during transportation, and produces RFID-based attendance and student transportation reports without anyone compiling them by hand. RFID and reporting requirements are scoped during requirement analysis, since not every institution needs student-level tracking on every route.
